Academi Watch (formerly Blackwater Watch then Xe Watch) was formed in 2007 as a spin off of North Carolina Stop Torture Now . Headquartered in North Carolina, Academi Watch seeks to shine a light on Academi specifically, and private armies/mercenaries generally, with respect to their human rights violations, absence of accountability and their profiteering at the expense of, and lobbying for, war and conflict. Academi Watch represents a growing contingent of concerned individuals and groups including, but not limited to, human rights and peace activists, people of faith, civil libertarians, and veterans. We are in solidarity with people everywhere who are against private armies and mercenaries who profit from, and lobby for, war and conflict. To post a message to all the list members, send email to academiwatch@academiwatch.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Academiwatch
Subscribe to Academiwatch by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
